Damian Kavanagh | Dentist | GDC number 73518

I graduated from Birmingham in 1997 and started working at college road in 1999. Some 17 years later I am still here! I am committed to providing high quality gentle dentistry for all the family.

I have a strong commitment to ongoing post graduate study, I have attended and completed post graduate restorative courses in London and am currently enrolled on a post graduate diploma in Advanced Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons. I enjoy all aspects to dentistry but have a particular interest in root canal therapy and the restoration of the worn dentition.

In addition to working predominately at College Road, I have taught undergraduate dentists at Birmingham University for 3 years, and worked in the department of Endodontics at Birmingham Dental Hospital, treating referral patients.

I am married to Nicky and we have two children – Isabelle and Gabrielle. My interests outside of work are DIY, walking and snowboarding.

I look forward to meeting you.

Martina Fell | Dentist | GDC number 85535

I have worked at College Road Dental Practice for 11 years, having also spent a few years teaching undergraduate students at the Birmingham Dental Hospital. In my time with College Road I have undertaken numerous private restorative courses and passed my MFGDP examinations.

I have a particular interest in rehabilitating badly broken down mouths, along with rebuilding confidence in nervous patients, and also in preventative dentistry. I value the relationships and trust I have built up with my patients over the last 11 years and feel very fortunate to consider many of them as not just patients but friends.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking and travelling.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2010 with a BSc (honours) in Dental Hygiene and Therapy and a clinical distinction in periodontology. In addition to this I am also involved in teaching qualified dental nurses and undergraduate dental students, and have carried out research at Russell’s Hall Hospital, investigating the link between gum disease and rheumatoid arthritis which was very insightful.

Special interests within the dental field include treating complex cases of gum disease, acclimatising anxious patients and treating children.

I hold a keen interest in keeping up to date with any development within dentistry and providing my patients with a continued high standard of care.

Outside of the dental surgery I enjoy travelling and discovering new cuisines, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Fiona Fleming

Fiona Fleming | Dentist | GDC no: 67077

I qualified from Leeds University in 1991 but my vocation for dentistry started at a very young age: I was 10 when I first declared “I am going to be a dentist”. This stemmed from being a nervous patient myself and believing I could’ve been treated in a kinder way. In the 70’s dentistry was a totally different experience to what it is today. I have strived to help nervous and phobic patients overcome their fears ever since.

Since relocating to the Midlands in 1994, I have worked in General Dental Practices in Stourbridge Bromsgrove and Kidderminster. Developing my skills by undertaking many postgraduate courses including aesthetic and restorative courses to help restore worn and missing teeth and to enhance people’s natural smiles. After all a smile is at the heart of a face.

I am a mum of two and cherish the time we have at home as a family. My main ways to relax are creating culinary masterpieces for my family and friends and also keeping fit. I cover many miles on foot to keep my fitbit happy! -listening to audiobooks as I go.
